3D Printed Back Profile Samples
One of the most difficult parts of ordering a replacement guitar neck is choosing the right back profile. For over 25 years, we have answered countless questions from customers trying to decide which profile is best for them, such as: What does a Medium C feel like? What is a V-to-C profile? Which shape is right for me?
While there are many illustrations online showing 1st fret and 12th fret thicknesses, along with the general shape of the back of the neck, it can still be difficult to know how that profile will actually feel in your hand.
To help make that decision easier, we are pleased to offer 3D printed back profile samples. If you are unsure which neck profile you prefer, you may order one or more samples before placing your neck order. These samples allow you to physically compare different back shapes and make a more confident selection.
Each sample is printed individually on a per-order basis and takes several hours to produce. The samples measure approximately 12-3/4″ long, starting at the nut and extending just past the 12th fret, giving you a practical feel for the profile along the most important playing area of the neck.
At this time, samples are offered only with a 1-11/16″ nut width and a 10″ fingerboard radius. This will give you a very close feel for how the profile would feel on narrower nut widths as well.
Be sure to check out our Value Packs, which include a $25 credit toward the purchase of a custom neck.
Once you have chosen the profile that feels best to you, you can use that information when placing your custom neck order.
Please note: 3D printed back profile samples are non-returnable.
